What we collect

When you scan a card, the image you upload is sent to our AI pipeline for identification. No account is required and no personal data is collected during the scan. We may log basic request metadata — device type, browser, and originating hostname — for operational monitoring and abuse prevention. We also use anonymous analytics to measure overall usage of the scanner, described under Cookies, analytics and local storage below.

Image retention and AI training

Images submitted through TCGScanner may be retained and used to improve the accuracy of the AI model. This includes improving card recognition, graded card detection, and language identification. Retained images are stored securely and are not shared with third parties outside of the CardLogx platform.

If you do not want your image to be used for training, please do not submit it through this tool. By uploading an image you acknowledge and accept this usage.

Cookies, analytics and local storage

TCGScanner uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how the scanner is used — for example page visits and approximate (country-level) location. Analytics cookies are only set after you consent: by default all analytics storage is denied (Google Consent Mode v2), and nothing is placed on your device until you choose Accept on the cookie banner. You can choose Decline instead, and we remember your choice so you are not asked again.

We do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell your data. Analytics data is processed by Google — see how Google uses cookies.

We also use browser localStorage for functional purposes only — such as remembering your preferred view layout, your cookie-consent choice, and your daily scan count. Functional storage is not used for tracking and is never shared.
